YOU KNOW U'RE AN ARCHITECTURE STUDENT WHEN...
Subject: I don't need sex - the school of architecture fucks me all the time
Description: If you are architecture students you've probably experienced:-
- the taste of wood glue-
- changes in your vocabulary: homework to project, ball to sphere, etc-
- you don't understand how somebody can spend less than $20 at the supplies store
- you hate people telling you "go to sleep" or "do you still have a lot of work?"
- your friends and you don't have the same concept of work "oh, well do it right before class"
- you've slept more than 20 straight hours on weekends-you can easily discuss with authority the effects of caffeine on different drinks
- no matter the effort you put in a project, somebody will always say “why don’t you add this” or “why don’t you change this here” or “i think that…but…yeah, its ok”
- you’ve heard all your ipod songs in a week-you aren’t seen in public without bags under your eyes
- whenever you get invited somewhere, it is followed by “or do you have a lot of homework?”
- you’ll dance ymca with a choreography without a drop of alcohol in your system
- you write down a quick message with rapidographs, lead holders, markers and ink
- you constantly make up excuses for courses that are not design related why you didn’t do your work
- you have more pictures of landscapes and places than of people-your worst nightmare consists of not finishing a project
- someone once called you “lazy” and you wanted them murdered
- you can live without human contact, sunlight, food, but if your plotter’s ink runs out… chaos!!!
- when somebody lends you a Bic pen you look down at it
- you don’t care about sports cars, your favorite car is the one where you can put in your model and your huge computer
- you design spectacular things without the idea of the cost
- you have the modern mark: a blister in your palm’s hand for the constant use of your mouse
- everybody tells you how they admire your work, “but there is no money for it
That's architourture lyfe....
well this is a very common and popular writing with the architecture students so i thought il add my extension and flavour to it. I never thought that few things can change my life to extremes. there are so many things which sound So weird to a common person but for me its normal now. If i can be awake for 48 straight hours i can also sleep for 48 straight hours.
I have been to police station, court, hospital, mental hospital, assembly every possible weird place on this earth on the name of case study, Just imagine i was in F bar at 11 O clock in the morning for case study.Damn!!
Kids just love my room becoz they find all kinds of color pencils, paints, crayons, clay etc.
I have major fights with my 5 yr old neighbour because he flicks my lil stationary:P
I spend more than 2000 rs on stationary every month.
My room is a major breading centre for all weird insects.
I am super active in the nite. Only the clock reminds me that i need to sleep or the milk mans bell.
All my clothes have paint stains on them.
I have approximately around 50 Kgs of sheets and i store all of them, even a scrap paper is the most important document for me, entry of servant maid is banned in my room.
My mom always thought i was the dirtiest girl but soon she gave up when all my friends came home for a nite out and now she says dimpy and her friends are the dirtiest and i say mom that comes with architecture. love it or leave it!!!!
My sisters once told me that they will kill me one day for spreading over my stuff all over the house and use my sheets instead of the wood to burn me.
We slept on the railway station platform, college corridors, bus foot boards and still think they were the most comfortable places.
I go for a 8 day trip with just a college back pack.
Our lunch or dinner in any restaurant just ends up only with one conversation i.e discussing the design of the resaturant.
I treat my wall as a canvas.
We live in this world where we discuss the beauty of nature the beauty of every not so beautiful thing for a common man and can also write a 5 page design philosophy on a normal chair.
Well can write more and more about it, but il shal stop it here.
all that i can say end of it is "ARCHITECTURE LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT"
